Site Safety April through February 2015

·   Order Suspension of activities that pose threats to workers’ health and safety.

·   Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, process, or materials.

·   Investigate accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.

·   Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.

·   Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.

·   Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

·   Provide new-employee health and safety orientations, and develop materials for these presentations.

·   Investigate health-related complaints, and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.

·   Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.

·   Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies.

 

 

Labor Support/Off-Shift Supervisor March 2007-April 2014

 

 

·   Labor Support from 2007-2011, which included various job responsibilities such as; Sampling Materials, Insulation/metal work, and erecting, dismantling, and modifying scaffolds.

·   Pre-Job walks to determine the scope of work; locations, quantities, and sizes of materials needed.

·   Accountable for projects and safety requirements on each job site.

·   Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, and knives.

·   Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.

·   Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.

·   Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, duct work, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchanges, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperature.
